Connect your laptop to the NCEAS network

Ethernet: Plug in a cable, most computers will auto-configure the network setttings using dhcp.
Wifi: Find a CD containing the WiFi key and follow the instructions here: How to connect to the NCEAS wireless network

Network Storage

You have a personal storage area on our servers called home directory available for your files and data. If you want to have your data backed up automatically or would like to access them from any computer just move them to this directory.

Common computers and laptop loans

Located in our Vislab (Room 313) are several shared computers that are hooked up to the Internet and available for your use. These Windows, Macintosh and Linux machines feature a broad array of Internet, Office, Graphics, and Scientific/Analytical application software. If you cannot locate the package that you need, please ask one of the computing support staff for assistance. We also have available a limited number of laptops (Windows/Mac/Linux) that can be loaned out to take to a conference etc.

SMART whiteboards

Both conference rooms and the lounge area are equipped with SMART whiteboards which takes collaboration to a new level. More information is available here

Remote communication

We have a regular conferencing phone and a Polycom video conferencing system available for use upon request (contact Thomas or Nick).
