VisLab

Summary

NCEAS has a computer lab (Room 331), called the Visualization Lab or Vislab, with four public computers, 55โ€œ LCD monitor, networked printers, a full-size copy machine, a fax machine, a scanner, and a station to set up a laptop.

Computers

There are two Windows desktops, and Ubuntu desktop, and an Apple iMac. All machines have 27โ€ 2560×1440 monitors or larger.

Collaboration

A 55โ€œ LCD 1080P Monitor with HDMI and VGA connections is available in this room. It is also permanently connected to the iMac.

Video Conferencing

The iMac has a built-in video camera and microphone, with Skype, Google Hangouts, and FaceTime software installed.

Printers

Two public networked printers are available, a Black and white high speed copy machine/printer, and a color laser printer

Scanners

  • Copy machine capable of creating and emailing greyscale PDFs and TIFFs
  • Color HP scanner, hooked up to Bumblebee (Windows)

Networking

Wi-Fi and one gigabit ethernet cable are available. More ethernet cables are available on request.
