Make sure to configure from within the intended user account as several settings only affect the current user.
it:Update DHCP with computer’s MAC address (only needs to be done with new hardware)
Update it:Desktop list
Match System Preferences → Sharing → Computer Name with hostname
Create an administrator and the user account and Allow user to administer this computer
System Preferences → Sharing → enable Remote Login and Remote Management for the Administrator account
Finder → New Finder Window → View → Show Path Bar
Set NCEAS logo as background
Set up NCEAS Printers LJ6, LJ4 (& LJ10 if in vicinity)
Set up Time Machine for external drive and set it to automount: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount AutomountDisksWithoutUserLogin -bool true
Add all apps to the Dock
Set Firefox as default browser clients
Open Adobe Reader / Acrobat Pro → Preferences → Internet → Internet Options → Connection speed: LAN
