Troubleshooting Steps
Display Issues
- If the image is does not fill out the screen of the TV or is distorted, try changing the screen resolution.
- Macs usually automatically output a video signal when a display cable is plugged in. For Windows computers, it depends on the laptop model. Try the F7 or F8 key to switch between the various options for outputting to an external display.
Roku Box
If the mirrored image only fills out part of the screens, about one quarter on the upper left corner, either reboot the Roku:
Home => Settings => System => Power => System restart => Restart, or power cycle the Roku box.
Meeting Owl Pro
If Zoom is not showing video when set to the Owl, try to
- Reseat the USB plug
or
- Powercycle the Owl
Audio Issues
Meeting Owl Pro
- If the Dante Virtual Soundcard is not showing up as an audio input/output option in Zoom on the A/V laptop
- Make sure an APIPA (Automatic Private IP Address of 169.254.x.x) was assigned to one of the Thunderbolt (TB) Ethernet adapters.
- Open the Dante Virtual Soundcard app from the dock => Settings and start the service, if possible. If the start button is grayed out or neither one of the TB adapters has an APIPA, make sure the adapters are properly seated and restart the computer.
- Audio feedback loop? => Make sure that only one computer, usually the one hosting the Zoom session, joins audio in any given room. All other computers should skip that step => simply close the window “Choose ONE of the audio conferencing options”.
- If you accidentally joined audio, you can “Leave Computer Audio” from the pop-up menu next to the microphone icon in the lower left corner.
- If your headset had been working until now, check if the operating system (OS) is recognizing the headset.
- If not, unplug/plug in the headset; you might have to repeat this a couple of times; restart the computer.
- If it is still not seeing it, try a different headset or use the built-in mic/speakers.
- If the OS is seeing the headset but Zoom is not, …
- Restart the Zoom client.
- If it still does not show up, try a different headset or use the built-in mic/speakers.
